My recent discoveries

This post is going to have many different subjects. But hopefully they'll all be tied together in some way, so as not to seem like a bunch of random facts.

First off, I watched the Justin Bieber movie the other day. And I must admit that it was very depressing. Why? Because who wants to watch a movie about an underdog who plays a thousand instruments, can sing his butt off, solves a rubix cube in 2 minutes, and has talent out the wazoo. His young life is turning out perfect. His dreams came true. It was like watching a good reality tv musical.
I call the movie depressing because so many people out there want to get discovered. But no matter how much talent they have, they will never be as good as Justin Bieber. haha! But seriously, there isn't much hope for the rest of us. Justin Bieber is simply too cool. I know it must be hard to hear, but I'm sorry, you should stop trying now because YOU WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS JUSTIN BIEBER.

*the preceding was bad advice given from our on-site motivational speaker. You'll thank us later.

Speaking of cool random and inspiring things, (yeah... just go with it) I just discovered Pinterest. In short, Pinterest is an online pinboard. You can create different boards and fill them with things that you love. If you love food you can create a food board, if you love clothes or shoes then the same can go for those. I know this sounds really confusing so I'll just show you.

Heres a link to my Pinterest. Click on it.

or if you want a better example click Here
This my sisters Pinterest. Shes also using Pinterest to plan her upcoming wedding. (which is awesome)

Would you like a more manly example?
This guy is a architect. So all of his boards are of building that he finds interesting.

You can use Pinterest to find ideas for decorating, art, food, fashion, hair, books, anything and everything. its pretty tight.

ok, well I need to get on with my day now. I firgot what else I was going to talk about :/ bye.

The "B" word.....

Guess what?! well.....a few months ago at the SHARE harvest party, I played basketball. That in itself says a lot. Because before then, the last time I played basketball was in Mexico the year before, and when I played then, me and my friend ended up losing the game to a one legged boy (his other leg was broken). Now as you can imagine, losing to a one-legged person does wonders for your basketball self-esteem (it makes it plummet and crash to the ground). But the night of the Harvest party, I was incredibly bored, so I decided to shoot around with Calvin. After just messin around, Calvin had the bright idea that he was going to get a game going. So we start playing, and I hated to admit it, but it was fun. And I wasn't as breath takingly awful as I thought. Just shooting around with Malachi, Isiah, Calvin and Matthias got me thinking. "Hm," I said to myself, "this isn't so dreadful as I was originally lead to believe." So as I went home, I shared the news with my dad. His little ole face lit up with excitement (for basketball is his forte) "You wanna play!? Really!" ........
Two weeks later, I had my first practice. And it was much worse then I ever could have imagined. Pain. Breathlessness. Too much sweat (I'm sure some tears were in there as well). As I bent over gasping for my very life, I wanted to quit. I told myself that my life would be much easier if I never had to do this again. But then again, who said anything would be easy? I remembered the first time I started gymnastics again, It was like this. What if I had quit then? I never would have accomplished all I did that year. "Stick it out Janelle, this is only your first practice, you can do it!" said the Therapist in my head (that sounds a lot like this dude I know).
Basketball runs in my family.  My dad played basketball in high school, college, he was the assistant coach for a college team, and he played in the 40 & over league (which I think is really funny). My uncle played, my aunt played, and my cousin(s) play(s). So I must say, that its quite intimidating having so many basketball stars surrounding you. I have never played organized basketball before in my life, and it's very scary. I'm scared of basketball. But I love conquering my fears, so basketball, prepare to be crushed.
Guess what again? I scored 12 points at one of my games last week!! whoot whoot! En tu cara! Go Patriettes!

The one in the front is my very own cousin.

The one dunking is the same awesome cousin

Here is my dad schooling somebody! whoot whoot!

Darn apple pt 2.

"I'm Not a dentist, go across the street."
"I'm not a dentist, go up the street."
"Is this a dentists office?"
"Yes, but he is not in. Go up the street."
This was the third doctor/dentists office within a 20ft radius. How did they all stay in business? After Grace had gotten her mirror and examined her mouth, she realized that what she held in her hand was indeed the outer wall of her tooth. Gross. Word eventually got out that 'Gracie broke her tooth' and less then a half hour later she found herself walking around town looking for a dentist. Thankfully she didn't have to make the fateful trip alone. Ana*, her team leader, Josh, the Country assistant, and Miranda, the faithful friend also accompanied her.
"Is the dentist in?"
"No, go next door?"
When they finally reached the last suggested place, it was packed with people, so they only assumed that they had finally struck gold. After signing in, and waiting a spell, They went back to the dentists room and got a diagniosis. When the young Panamian saw Grace's mouth she let out a shriek of horror. Grace had 7 cavities and 3 teeth that need to be extracted.
"Huh? Whats 'extracted'?" Grace worried. Josh smiled at her, "Don't worry, It'll be fine" he said as the dentist sat her down in the chair.
Grace laughed through her nervous fear, this was actually a really funny situation. Miranda sat next to her in a different chair, trying to comfort the tortured soul, while Ana talked to the dentist in Spanish, for Ana was the only fluent one in the group.
After the dentist took one more look at her patient, she started pulling out the tools. Nut crackers, wrenches, scissors, and knives is what all the dentistry tools looked like to Grace. More nervous laughter. Oh, junk.
After getting stabbed in the mouth by a needle, Grace felt one side of her face go numb, she heard Miranda laughing at the lopsided swollen-ness, and she felt the extraction process begin. ...
About a half hour later, after Grace had rinsed and spit for the fourth time, gotten the hole in her mouth sewed up, and said goodbye to a tooth she would never again have the pleasure of eating with, she received another important piece of information. She would have to get shots for antibiotics, shw would have to get shots, in her butt.
"Wha?!!" Grace asked with a numb and swollen mouth,
"Shhh! You can't talk for another half hour!"
Grace groaned, talk about an adventure.........
